Idaho Transportation Department, Inspection, Sampling, & Testing Projects
McMillen has been retained by Connecting Idaho Partners (CIP) as part of the Garvee Program to provide Inspection, Sampling & Testing on several projects throughout the state of Idaho. McMillen understanding ITD’s materials testing processes and inspection procedures which allows us to anticipating materials issues and provide adequate testing to ensure acceptance. McMillen has led large teams of subconsultants and provided valuable insight in managing all of these projects with limited staff that performed: interpretation of plans and specs for appropriate compliance, coordination of changes to the project, assistance with developing and processing change orders, resolving disputes, claims analysis, QC of inspection diaries and project files, and any other tasks as deemed necessary by the ITD manager. McMillen has provided Inspection, Sampling and Testing services on the following projects:
- ITD, US95, SH53 to Ohio Match Road. McMillen is currently providing Inspection, Sampling and Testing support for this $13 million widening of US95 north of Coeur d’Alene. This multi-year project will widen approximately 3 miles of US95. Inspection and testing duties include: Traffic Control, Excavation, Embankment, Base Material, Paving and Drainage upgrades and installation.
- I-84, Broadway to Eisenman. McMillen was selected for this project to lead the IS&T Team on this $12 million rehabilitation project of 6.1 miles of I-84. Inspection duties included: Monitoring Traffic Control, Inspection of Crack & Seat, Excavation, Embankment, Paving and Guardrail upgrades and installation.
- US95, Worley North. McMillen provided Inspection, Sampling and Testing support to ITD District 1 and CIP for construction of structures crossing Rock Creek and US95. Inspection duties included: Structural inspection of the deck, diaphragms, piers and parapets prior to acceptance of rebar and placement of concrete and sampling and testing of concrete during placement.
- ITD, District 1, US95 Setters to Bellgrove Stage 1 & 2. McMillen provided construction engineering and inspection (CE&I) for these $17 million and $35 million reconstruction/realignment projects of eight miles of US95 in North Idaho. This project passes through an environmentally sensitive area on the Coeur d’Alene Reservation with a major emphasis on water quality and erosion control. This project includes over 1 million cubic meters of excavation and embankment, four new prestressed concrete girder bridges, and two new steel plate girder bridges.
